Religious Education

My name is Mrs Cummings and I am am the Religious Education lead at Waberthwaite C of E School. As a Church of England School, we follow the Questful RE programme of study and we organise the curriculum into cycles.  As a voluntary aided school, our Religious Education predominantly focuses on Christianity, however we also study other major religions including Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism.

During their time at Waberthwaite we take our children to a large range of faith buildings including a Synagogue in Manchester (along with the Jewish museum); Manchester mosque and also the cathedral and the Manjushri Buddhist centre in Ulverston.

Christian Art:

During our summer 2024 'Waber about', Class 3 have been identifying features of Christian art, including stained glass, and comparing this with Jewish and Islamic religious art.
