Global Learning

We work with St Bees School China in Shijiazhuang to develop our global cultural awareness. We started our relationship with the school during 2021 - initially through staff communication. This led to weekly online video calls between our Class 3 students and their students to learn more about Chinese language and culture and for their students to practise their conversational English.

Although our relationship and the way in which the two schools communicate has continued to develop over time, it remains strong and in April 2023 we are looking forward to beginning a new phase of communication to enrich our own curriculum. We will be creating recorded video content to share with St Bees SJZ about ourselves and our curriculum. We will be creating learning videos and documentaries to teach our Chinese friends all about our lives and our local geography and history along with national news, British values and culture. In return they will be teaching us about Chinese culture and language.

We are the children of Waberthwaite School. We are teachers!
