Art

“I found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way - things I had no words for.” Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986), Artist

My name is Mrs Cummings and I'm the Art subject lead at Waberthwaite C of E School.

I was very lucky to grow up surrounded by a family of artists and their passion for everything creative resonates with me through life to this day.

Art is a subject I love to teach and I particularly enjoy seeing the moment that every child realises that they too are an artist!

Here at Waberthwaite we use the Kapow scheme for the teaching and learning of Art and Design. We adapt the units to suit our children and ensure that there is a full, progressive coverage of the National Curriculum to allow our pupils to flourish in creativity.
